Happy Birthday Calusa!

Happy Birthday to Calusa who celebrates her 13th birthday today. This vibrant young lady is often seen with a target pole or hula hoop in tow. She loves to chat with guests on the causeway and even plays a game with them. Has Calusa screamed at you only to swim away when you walk over to her? We bet she squealed again as you turned to make your way back down the causeway too. Yup, she was playing a game of human yo-yo. It's one of her faves! This beautiful girl has a unique sense of humor and we love to see what she comes up with on a daily basis. Happy Birthday Calusa!

Happy Anniversary, Louie!

Happy anniversary to Louie, who joined the DRC family in 2011. This handsome young man needed a forever home after being a victim of the oil spill in Louisiana. He was found on a beach, estimated to be around six to eight months old, covered in oil all alone. Given only a 5% chance of survival, Louie beat the odds and recovered. Deemed unreleasable by the government due to his age, he was "adopted..." by Aleta and Delta when he joined our family. Louie is an eager learner and loves to take part in cognitive games. He's one of the first dolphins to show up for play or enrichment sessions. We are so blessed to have Louie as a member of the Dolphin Research Center family. Happy anniversary Lou, we love you!
