It's a Girl!

Pandora's daughter is simply adorable.

We recently confirmed that Pandora's bundle of flippered joy is a baby girl! Mom and calf are both doing well. Pandora's demonstrating great skill and confidence as a first-time mother. The baby is active and growing and Mom loves showing her off to visitors.
Now that we know her gender, we will begin considering names. If you have a suggestion, feel free to leave it in the comments.

That mischievous sparkle in the baby's eye reminds us of her mother!

Hello there,

What a beautiful picture of this girl! she is so cute!!
And because she has that mischievous sparkle in her eyes, my suggestion for a name is 'Sparkle'. It's a simple name but it means a lot!

How about Pyrrha, or some alternately spelled derivative? In a lesser known bit of Greek mythology, Pyrrha was Pandora's daughter.

OMG SHE IS A GIRL!! I think she should be named " Nivea ". It's a beautiful river where bottlenoses are found. She is just so cute!!

HOPE was the only thing left in Pandora's box

I like the name Nivea too. But I suggest the name "P.J." Its short for Pandora and A.J. It might not get chosen but I think its really cute

she is just so ADORABLE!! I think Sparkle, Nivea, and Pyrrha is all pretty good but I suggest the name "Aqua". Its an abbreviation for all waters which is very related to Pandora's daughter. Hahha

How about Athena, the greek godess of wisdom and battle

I think a good name would either be Athena or Persephone (if we were to stick with the Godesses), or, if you would like to go with rambuncious, perhaps a bit mischevious personality: Dori.

We were there on saturday and our 9 year old, Daniel, discovered that the baby dolphin was born on the same day as he. He is very excited and insists that we whould propose the name Daniela/dani.
Loved the place ... congratulations ... great work!

What about Isla (like Islamorada?) or Maui? Something with a tropical flair to it. When you think of the tropics you think of rest and relaxation, but you also think of fun and adventures, and maybe a little bit of mischeif...so those are my suggestions.

Love the commenter Max's suggestion, of Pyrrha....
or perhaps Demeter(or Demetra), who guards home & hearth(the protectress).

What a great site you all have!

We were visiting this beautiful girl April 1st, and couldn't get enough of her - she's so cute!
My daughter Kimberly suggests her own name (she had an adoption certificate of Pandora a year ago), and my son thinks "Speedy" would be a great name for her, since she is so fast yet.
Greetings from Germany,
Iris

I am so happy for you guys! I was actually at the DRC the day you found out and it was so exciting to be one of the first people to know! Anyway, I reccomend Pyrrha as a name as well, but I also think Iris is interesting because that is the name of the author who wrote the book, "Pandora's Daughter". It's a tough decision, naming a dolphin, but you guys always do it perfectly!

I'm so happy for you guys! I was actually @ the DRC the day you found out! However, I also recommend the name Pyrrah, and also Iris. Iris Patterson was the author of the book "Pandora's Daughter".

Many thanks to everyone for your suggestions. The baby has been named Luna! She was born very early on the day of a blue moon, so it seems appropriate.
